This is a hybrid role requiring one day in the office weekly, based on organizational needs. This position also requires regular travel to dental office locations.
Compensation: This position is exempt, and the salary range is $54,683-$72,197 annually plus is eligible for an internet and phone allowance.
The Provider Relations Representative serves as the primary liaison between Delta Dental of Colorado and dental providers, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring provider satisfaction. This role is responsible for managing provider accounts, resolving inquiries, and delivering education on networks, benefit programs, and policies. Key responsibilities include developing service plans, supporting credentialing processes, promoting technology adoption, network relationship building and collaborating across departments to enhance provider experience and network performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare/dental experience, including insurance knowledge and professional interactions with providers.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to navigate crucial conversations and build strong relationships.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work constructively with diverse teams and adapt to varying work styles.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred though not required).
- At least 5 years of relevant healthcare/dental experience, ideally in provider relations or a similar role.
- Background in healthcare administration, account management, and/or sales.
- Experience interacting professionally with dental and medical professionals.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Knowledge of key industry drivers and emerging trends in medical and dental care.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in managing challenging conversations while maintaining positive relationships.
- Comfortable learning new software and technology platforms in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain multiple initiatives at the same time.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute account service plans for assigned territories using a proactive approach with measurable goals, KPIs, and metrics.
- Maintain network stability by building positive relationships with dental offices through routine visits, service follow-ups, and educational training.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for provider inquiries related to contracts, escalated claims, fees, participation, and other issues.
- Regularly review Salesforce and other departmental data to identify and address provider concerns proactively.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of provider contracts, fee schedules, and network programs (PPO, Premier, Government programs).
- Share provider reports, dashboards, and other analytics with providers and office staff.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support provider relations and organizational objectives.
