English Faculty, Middle School, Grades 6-8

Job Summary: The Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic English Teacher to join our team. This position will begin in August of the 2026-27 school year.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English education, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students. A sense of humor and a positive and ambitious attitude are highly desirable. Enthusiasm for working in a middle school environment, a demonstrated commitment to innovative pedagogy, as well as the ability to thrive in a collaborative community that values creativity and independence in the classroom, are all essentials.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching middle school is preferred.
- Proven ability to:
- use a range of literature and resources that represent diverse experiences across various genres
- collaborate with colleagues to build robust curriculum in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary instruction
- teach the writing process to reach a wide range of learners
- assess and monitor student progress, providing regular and meaningful feedback to students and parents.
- foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and respect.
- Show evidence of best practices in education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
Schedule: Teaching positions are based on the school year (August through May). During the school year. There are three school vacations – one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in December, and two weeks in March – plus holidays, personal and sick days.
Compensation: Compensation will be based on a competitive norm influenced by area and peer schools, using years of experience and the highest completed degree. Transcripts and verification of employment will be required.
