Title - Operations Manager

Location – Uxbridge

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fire remediation schemes allocated by the Operations Director – Oak Specialist Services. This includes overseeing all production functions from pre-construction planning, Building Safety Regulator (BSR) submissions, and contract award, through to the final issue of the Maintenance Certificate. You will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance, while maintaining strong relationships with principal contractors and clients. A key focus of the role is to maximise operational efficiency, service quality, and profitability across all assigned contracts.

What you will be doing:

  • Produce monthly progress reports for board papers, highlighting key milestones, risks, and financial performance.

  • Prepare and present monthly team meeting reports to support internal alignment and continuous improvement.

  • Review and sign off Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) documentation in line with the Business Management System (BMS).

  • Report any HS&E issues to the Health & Safety Manager and ensure timely resolution.

  • Implement and promote the company’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and targets across all projects.

  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s BMS and actively identify and promote areas for improvement.

  • Lead weekly presentations of SSER reports, quality management reviews, and programme implications across all sites.

  • Coordinate with Fire Engineers, consultants, NHBC Risk Inspectors (RIs), and other technical stakeholders to ensure quality assurance.

  • Manage and control information/drawing registers in collaboration with the Technical department, ensuring timely distribution to site teams and subcontractors.

  • Manage and support teams of Project Managers and Site Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

  • Collaborate with the planner to design and maintain working programmes that support accurate reporting and delivery.

  • Work closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets, control costs, and optimise financial performance.

  • Ensure all fire remediation schemes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with principal contractors and clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support pre-construction planning, BSR submissions, and contract award processes to ensure readiness and compliance.

  • Oversee the final issue of Maintenance Certificates, ensuring all contractual and regulatory obligations are met.

About You:

  • Construction-related further education, such as HNC, HND, Degree, or Level 7 NVQ in Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), or actively working towards chartered status.
  • Valid and appropriate CSCS card for managerial level. 
  • Demonstrable experience in fire remediation and façade works, including cladding replacement and passive fire protection. 
  • Strong working knowledge of NHBC procedures, with a proven track record of successful inspections and handovers. 
  • High level of expertise in construction-related Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards and legislation. 
  • Familiarity with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) submission processes and regulatory compliance. 
  • Experience in managing projects under principal contractor responsibilities, including coordination with clients and consultants. 
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction programmes. 
  • Competent in using project management software and digital tools for reporting, planning, and document control.
