The Prince George's County Office of Procurement is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to fill a Community Developer I/II (Community Developer 1G) Grade G18/21 position in the Supplier Development & Diversity Division. 

About the Position: 

This is an entry level professional work that provides administrative support for Supplier Development & Diversity Division’s (SD3) outreach and training program. The incumbent will coordinate outreach activities and provide administrative and logistical support for supplier development and diversity within the County division programs. Candidate will assist the Executive Director in agency activities provided to the business community, Customer Service Facilitation, and other special projects. In addition, enlighten the business community of the opportunities to do business with the Prince Georges County Government.

About the Agency:

The Office of Procurement was launched on July 1, 2024, and comprises three main divisions: the Office of Accountability, Business Services, and Office of Administrative Services. These divisions will house critical functions including Contract Compliance, Contract Administration & Procurement, and Supplier Development & Diversity, formerly managed under the Office of Central Services. The Office of Procurement will help foster transparency and efficiency in our procurement process every day while also providing a high impact means to promote equity. Through the new Office of Procurement, small, local, and minority-owned businesses are supported, creating new opportunities for our residents to work in and improve the community where they live.

Position Duties


  • Assist with Coordinating and execute a minimum of 6 supplier education and training sessions annually, conducted either virtually or in person at various locations.

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of the annual OOP Summit, including supporting the planning committee with agenda development, speaker coordination, and session logistics.

  • Work with other Maryland local and county offices, organizations, coalitions, and advocacy groups to build alliances and partnerships for targeted OOP initiatives and activities. Coordinate the identification and engagement of industry and trade associations each year to expand training opportunities and available resources, including maintaining an up-to- date yearly contact database.

  • Build and maintain relationships with County agencies to support outreach initiatives, including hosting at least quarterly vendor outreach sessions, agency-specific industry days, and pre-bid conferences for upcoming solicitations.

  • Coordinate weekly (or as frequently as necessary) with the PIO in the development of a supplier outreach and training communications strategy, including updates to the OOP website, electronic platforms, and OOP social media platforms including issuance of press releases.

  • Track supplier outreach challenges and elevate reoccurring issues to the Executive Director and/or OOP Director providing a report a quarterly basis.

  • Assist with Developing and submit an annual Strategic Outreach Plan that outlines objectives, performance targets, timelines, and evaluation metrics for all outreach activities by the beginning of each fiscal year.

  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and managing the timely receipt of data from all participating County agencies. Participate in the annual goal setting process and assist in the preparation and publication of the annual Green Book. Verify data accuracy at a 95% or higher rate, ensuring deadlines are met. Responds timely to public and County-agency inquiries regarding the Green Book.

  • Assists the Mentor Protégé Program Manager in the execution of the program including coordinating program participant application reviews, communications with program participants, and logistics for at least two mentor protégé program training sessions each year including invitations, registration, tracking and post-event surveys, with an average attendance of at least 10 participants per event.

  • Compile and format data for County supplier diversity categories on a monthly basis and provide this information to OOP leadership (Executive Director and/or Director or Deputy Director).

  • Assist in preparing summary updates and briefing materials at least quarterly highlighting outreach accomplishments and vendor success stories.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with major course work in business or public administration, social service, sociology, psychology, or other fields
  • Responsible work experience which includes coordination of group activities, preferably including work with disadvantaged individuals  
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be accepted
