In this dynamic role, you will exercise your skills in all aspects of procurement and project management for Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicles to make a positive impact to DTNA’s bottom line through effective part sourcing and continuous cost improvement. This position will be located at the Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation building in Gaffney, SC.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
Lead strategic sourcing decisions and manage suppliers for Daimler Truck Special Vehicle chassis components and assemblies.
Execute negotiations to establish or renew supplier agreements to purchase critical materials including parts components pricing, tooling, services, warranty and Aftermarket support.
Local commodity responsibility for sourcing activities, that includes driving decisions, negotiations and managing the supply base in respect to purchasing policy.
Manage supplier relationships, including long term strategic partnerships with commitments for yearly price efficiencies to help differentiate DTNA in the marketplace and actively impact its bottom line.
Participate in the development of local and global commodity strategies for various chassis components and assemblies, covering both production and aftermarket requirements.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues (Engineering, Sales, Product Planning and Finance) to guide and implement Specialty Vehicles strategic roadmaps for RV, Walk-in Van and School Bus chassis.
Ensure alignment for Specialty Vehicles with DTNA production and Aftermarket projects and strategies.
Attend global product workshops, as needed.
Participate in and prepare global Lead Buying meetings and workshops.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies and align with cross-functional project teams.
Drive DTNA’s success by bringing best-in-class product offerings and cost structure through the evaluation of alternative materials, methods, technologies and suitable suppliers as necessary.
Drive continuous improvement where applicable.
Participate in and facilitate cross-functional team meetings for new product project introductions, continuous cost improvement, technical product reviews, supply management or warranty problem-solving initiatives.
Represent the Procurement department and support the NPP (New Product Project) team in new product projects and contribute to the visual management process.
Knowledge You Should Bring
BS/BA and prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Ability to work successfully as part of a highly motivated team.
Ability to gain in a timely manner specialized knowledge of own area of responsibility.
Demonstrate the ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion
Understanding on supplier negotiation of component baselines, agreements and volumes.
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) proficiency and ability to multi-task.
Understanding of DTNA internal systems
Demonstrated negotiation skills.
Project management skills.
Ability to drive/manage multiple projects.
Organizational skills, attention to details.
Communication skills & ability to work within team framework.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Degree in Business Administration, Materials/Supply Chain & Logistics Management

Visa sponsorship will only be open to current Daimler Truck North America employees working under an existing U.S. Daimler Truck North America Visa
