We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our Summer 2026 program in La Porte TX Responsibilities included but not limited to: 50% document control-data analysis, 25% Project Management assistance, 25% in the field.This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the Environmental-Industrial Waste Management Industry, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, and the mechanical integrity program. Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program
- Learn about corrosion mechanisms and participate in corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities
- Gain exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, Management of Change (MOCs), Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, and other elements of PSM
- Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM)
Qualifications
What does it take to work at Clean Harbors Company?
Enrolled in a Bachelor Engineering Program (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial) in your Junior, Senior years, or recent graduate preferred
Proficiency in CAD or similar software for updating and modifying engineering drawings
Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to work independently
Proficient in MS Office Suite – Excel, Word and Outlook
Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verbally
Lift to 50lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, stand for prolonged periods, exposed to various weather conditions and work at heights
