As an Inside Sales Representative at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in driving volume growth and maximizing profitability within your assigned territory. This position requires strong communication, analytical skills, and a customer-first mindset, and offers the opportunity to directly contribute to sales performance, operational excellence, and long-term customer satisfaction.
You will collaborate closely with outside sales representatives, internal departments, and customers, ensuring seamless order management, superior service, and competitive market strategies. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Wheatland, PA.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, is detail-oriented, and excels at building strong customer relationships.
What You’ll Do
• Partners with outside sales representatives to drive revenue growth and meet performance targets.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring consistent communication and superior service.
• Identifies customer needs and provides tailored solutions to enhance their experience.
• Executes outbound prospecting efforts, including cold calling, to expand the customer base.
• Manages all aspects of customer service and order fulfillment with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensures timely and precise order processing, from initial request to final delivery.
• Collaborates with internal teams to handle orders with special requirements.
• Monitors market conditions and relays competitive insights and pricing trends to sales management.
• Develops competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining customer trust.
• Oversees customer inventory programs to prevent excess stock and obsolescence.
• Facilitates expedited shipping for ready-to-ship materials to meet customer deadlines.
• Provides territory coverage when the primary representative is unavailable.
Who You Are
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in computer-based systems and CRM tools.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Experience in the steel industry or a related manufacturing sector.
• Proven success in an inside sales role.
• Creative problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to build trust and credibility with customers.
• Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
