REPORTS TO: Director of Teacher Initiatives

POSITION TYPE: 12-month

START DATE: Immediately

COMPENSATION: $60,818 - $72,981, Home Office Grade 5

THE OPPORTUNITY

YES Prep needs a dynamic  Manager of Teacher Initiatives with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.

 

To put it simply, you will work directly with the Director of Teacher Initiatives to actualize projects, plans and initiatives that impact the student achievement strategic priority for YES Prep by overseeing our teacher evaluation systems, the project management of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) work, creating pathways for growth and development for teachers over a trajectory, and collaboratively coordinating the totality of teacher development throughout the organization.

 

THE ROLE

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:

 

Teacher Evaluation Operations Management

  • Developing and managing a year-long scope and sequence of the workflow needed to maintain The Teacher Pathway;
  • Creating and publishing teacher and leader resources and guides for implementation of The Teacher Pathway;
  • Tracking and communicating compliance for The Teacher Pathway requirements: coaching, evaluation, and survey completion;
  • Managing logistics, back-end set-up, and maintenance of technical platforms;
  • Serving as the project lead for technical design, rostering, and execution of the teacher feedback survey;
  • Managing relationships with vendors for evaluation and survey platforms;
  • Collaborating with teams across various departments at home office to execute strategic, aligned, and effective projects related to The Teacher Pathway;
  • Creating, publishing, and managing systems for rostering related to teacher feedback surveys in Qualtrics, tracking special circumstances for evaluation, and updating coach pairings in Grow & Power Bi;
  • Managing key systems and development related to teacher evaluation including placing teachers on The Teacher Pathway and appeals/rebuttals;
  • Creating and publishing internal and external marketing materials on The Teacher Pathway;
  • Designing & maintaining The Teacher Pathway SharePoint site as a source of information and learning for teachers and leaders;
  • Developing and managing systems to gather, analyze, and respond to data and feedback around teacher evaluation and support the implementation of feedback for improved performance, alignment, and results;
  • Managing the inbox for The Teacher Pathway.

 

 

Teacher Incentive Allotment Operations Management

  • Developing, maintaining, and improving systems for accurate record-keeping of TIA rosters and teachers’ designation status;
  • Creating and publishing teacher and leader resources for learning about TIA;
  • Crafting and sending clear communications to campus leaders regarding policies, designations, rostering, webinars, and district-wide TIA celebrations (Reveal Day & Level Up Luau);
  • Designing & maintaining the TIA SharePoint site as a source of information and learning for teachers and leaders;
  • Developing, communicating, and managing systems for gathering teacher and student rosters for TIA data submission (SpEd & Intervention);
  • Tracking, monitoring, and compiling YES Prep systemwide data to be submitted to the TEA for TIA data validation and reporting;
  • Planning, advertising, and executing the priority events for recognizing and rewarding teachers based on The Teacher Pathway & TIA (TIA Reveal Day, Level Up Luau);
  • Developing and managing systems to strengthen stakeholder engagement and support the implementation of feedback for improved performance, alignment, and results;
  • Creating marketing materials and communications regarding TIA for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Managing the inbox for the Teacher Incentive Allotment.

 

Teacher Development Support

  • Managing systems related to coaching plans including updating teacher tiers in Power Bi for each phase throughout the year;
  • Creating and publishing teacher and leader resources for the Instructional Leadership SharePoint sites, including generating shared resources (e.g. documents, internal and external classroom videos, coaching tools);
  • Managing special projects within Teacher Initiatives and cross-functional work groups;
  • Managing logistics and provide on the ground support for Teacher Development events;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • 3+ years of K-12 school or district level instructional experience
  • 2+ years of project management and strategic planning experience at the campus or district level
  • Ability to toggle between 50,000-ft. perspective and the nitty-gritty
  • Ability to self-start and drive self-learning
  • Evidence of producing excellent work products and projects on quick timelines
  • Deep sense of possibility in all students and staff
  • Strong writing skills & aesthetically pleasing work product delivery
  • Strong team player, peer accountability partner, and high levels of practice in managing up
