Position Summary
The Regional Sales Trainer will lead the training and development efforts for our sales teams across multiple office locations. This role is critical to driving sales excellence, improving performance, and ensuring our team members are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and tools to succeed. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and coach, passionate about fostering growth and delivering impactful training programs aligned with company goals. This position includes, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Training Development and Delivery
• Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing sales team members.
• Conduct engaging in-person and virtual training sessions focused on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
• Create training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules, tailored to various learning styles.
Sales Coaching and Mentorship
• Provide one-on-one and group coaching to enhance sales representatives’ skills and confidence.
• Observe sales interactions, providing constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop personalized action plans for underperforming sales team members to help them achieve success.
· Field Training which includes running leads.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, performance metrics, and feedback.
• Monitor key sales performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Report training outcomes and recommendations to senior sales leadership.
Collaboration and Alignment
• Partner with sales managers to identify training needs and ensure alignment with sales strategies and goals.
• Work closely with product and marketing teams to stay informed on new product launches and updates, integrating them into training programs.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with training standards and employee development initiatives.
Travel and Regional Support
• Travel within the assigned region to deliver on-site training, attend sales meetings, and provide in-the-field coaching.
• Serve as a resource for regional sales teams, addressing training-related questions and challenges.
Requirements
· 5–10 years of proven success in the home improvement industry, with demonstrated high performance in direct sales roles.
· Prior management or leadership experience in training or developing sales teams.
· Experience running in-home sales presentations and closing deals at a high level.
· Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and data visualization platforms (Tableau) is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
· Exceptional leadership, communication, and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and coach new sales representatives to success.
· Strong presentation and facilitation skills for classroom, virtual, and in-field training.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to assess performance data, identify trends, and develop targeted training solutions.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple training programs across a regional footprint.
· Proven ability to model effective sales techniques, manage performance, and drive accountability.
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Other Requirements
· Must be able to travel within the region for training and field support.
· Comfortable conducting both individual and group coaching sessions in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong understanding of the home improvement sales process and customer lifecycle.
Working Conditions
· Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend availability based on training schedule needs.
· Frequent use of a computer and presentation equipment; extended periods of sitting, standing, and screen time are required.
· Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines.
· Frequent travel may be needed
· Work is performed in a professional office, training facility, and field-based settings; requires extensive use of computers, data platforms, and communication tools.
· High degree of collaboration and communication with internal teams.
· Must be able to lift and transport training materials up to 25 lbs.
