Mechanic
The Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery, vehicles, and equipment. The nature of the position requires the maintenance technician to strive to have a strong mechanical aptitude, technical skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, vehicles, and equipment (e.g., lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustments, inspections).
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to restore safe and efficient operation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and breakdowns.
- Conduct safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Work closely with the maintenance team and operations staff to coordinate activities and minimize downtime.
- Communicate daily tasks and priorities with the Maintenance Manager.
Skills Required
- Experience as a Mechanic or in a similar position is an asset but is not required.
- Mechanical skills with knowledge of equipment and maintenance practices.
- Ability to diagnose issues and perform effective repairs.
- Detail-oriented with commitment to quality workmanship
- Capable of working independently and as a part of a team.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
