POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Specialist supports the organization by helping ensure data is accurate, consistent, and actionable across business systems and business units. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to start a career in data analytics or system support. The position combines building reports and dashboards, training end users on proper data entry, and helping manage the systems where data lives (such as ERP, project management, or reporting platforms). You’ll gain hands-on experience in analytics, data governance, and systems administration while supporting and training teams across the company.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Training & End-User Support

- Train teams on SOPs, proper data entry practices, and system workflows.
- Develop and maintain user guides, quick tips, and reference materials.
- Serve as the first line of support for system or data entry questions.
- Promote good data practices and adoption of new tools across teams.
- Work closely with teams to identify system improvements, gather user input, and implement changes in data and reporting tools.
System Administration & Governance

- Assist with managing end-user systems (ERP, project management platforms, CRM, etc.)
- Monitor data input across systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Help document system processes, integrations, and data flows.
- Learn and apply data governance standards, including data security and compliance.
- Work with IT and data teams to support integrations between platforms.
Analytics & Reporting

- Collect, clean, and organize data from business systems for reporting and analysis.
- Build and maintain basic dashboards and reports in Power BI, Excel, or similar tools.
- Support ad-hoc reporting requests from departments.
- Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project and business success.
PREFERRED CAPABILITIES
- Internship or project experience working with business systems, training, or data analysis.
- Familiarity with construction, engineering, or design systems and processes (Procore, CMiC, Salesforce, etc.).
- Capable of speaking/ training large groups of people
Qualifications
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position based out of Gainesville, GA office with trips to the Atlanta (Vinings) Office as needed for Team meetings
- Some trainings and/or meetings will take place at job sites and will require job site walks with trainees. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
- Roughly 95% of the work for this position is in an office setting, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. The other 5% will be in the field at a job site, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.
- This position may require short periods of travel as needed to various job locations, such as South Carolina, Tennessee, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong skills in Excel and interest in learning BI tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with databases and basic SQL (from coursework, projects, or internships).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support end users.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn.
- Interest in how business systems (ERP, CRM, project management software) connect to data and reporting.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Experience with scripting or programming (SQL, DAX, Python, etc.).
