Position Overview:
The primary function of the Construction Supervisor position is to supervise the field execution operations of assigned revenue-producing customer projects for one of the company’s market areas. The company market areas are Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. In most situations the assigned projects will be of a specific type of work which will fall into the following categories:
- Aerial (overhead cabling on existing poles).
- Underground (underground cabling).
- Internal (cabling within buildings and structures).
- Coax Splicing (splicing and activating coaxial cabling)
This is a working position; the Construction Supervisor is expected to perform all supervisory responsibilities as well as performing hands-on work in the field.
This is a Salary Exempt position that reports to the Construction Manager.
Requirements
What you’ll have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school certification, or coursework related to telecommunications infrastructure construction, electrical construction, or general construction.
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
- Any professional certification issued by a recognized trade or training entity in the fields of construction project management (particularly as it pertains to telecommunications infrastructure construction), engineering (particularly electrical), or related skills
- Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in telecommunications infrastructure construction.
- Any experience in a supervisory position for a telecommunications infrastructure construction organization.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise field Foremen and crews in designated areas (Aerial, Underground, Internal, etc.) to ensure efficient and timely execution of customer projects
- Drive productivity and cost-efficiency to consistently meet or beat project and area budgets, communicating goals from the Reporting Manager
- Ensure all work meets customer expectations for quality, timeliness, and documentation.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and the community while representing the company positively.
- Safeguard company assets (equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials) and manage job site security and risk mitigation.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, project standards, safety regulations (OSHA, NESC), and environmental/electrical codes.
- Oversee safety on all job sites, including conducting safety meetings and ensuring adherence to safety programs.
- Coordinate with the Reporting Manager to schedule and allocate labor, tools, equipment, and materials to maximize project efficiency.
- Manage and submit all required job documentation (work reports, timesheets, receipts, as-builts, invoicing details) accurately and on time.
- Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and usage of company and rental equipment.
- Support employee training, development, and fair application of HR policies; conduct or assist with performance reviews and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with all teams across the company in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.
- Uphold legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all activities.
- Participate in company and area meetings as required.
- Step in to perform field duties when needed, setting a positive example in quality and professionalism.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Reporting Manager to support company goals.
