Outdoor Guest Services Supervisor (Transportation Specialist)

General Purpose 
 

The Outdoor Guest Services Supervisor, Transportation Specialist is responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, and safe operation of Purgatory Resort’s transportation services and outdoor guest operations. This position combines administrative, supervisory, and hands-on transportation responsibilities to ensure seamless guest and employee movement throughout the resort and surrounding areas. 
The Supervisor works directly with the Transportation Manager to oversee a year-round fleet of vehicles, lead and train staff, coordinate guest and homeowner transportation, and ensure compliance with all PUC, DOT, FTA, and FMCSA regulations. This position also supports outdoor guest service operations, including events, special transportation needs, and guest experience coordination. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be 21 years or older. 
  • Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable MVR per resort insurance requirements. 
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and participate in random drug/alcohol testing per FMCSA regulations. 
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience. 
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative or office experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and LimoAnywhere (or similar scheduling software). 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. 
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 

Operations & Scheduling 

  • Assign, schedule, and dispatch transportation for guests, employees, and homeowners using LimoAnywhere and other scheduling tools.
  • Coordinate and communicate shuttle routes, event transportation, and special reservations. 
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs or service needs within 3–5 days of reported issues. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and reliable vehicle fleet; ensure vehicles are fueled, washed, and inspected regularly. 
  • Provide accounting and billing support for transportation services including guest billing, mileage tax, and airport fees. 
  • Develop and maintain bi-weekly driver schedules, ensuring adequate coverage seven days a week. 

Supervision & Leadership 

  • Supervise, coach, and support all transportation and outdoor guest services staff. ● Conduct performance evaluations and address performance issues promptly. 
  • Lead regular team meetings, including monthly safety meetings and trainings on resort standards and regulations. 
  • Train new employees on driving procedures, guest interaction, and departmental policies. 
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, and guest satisfaction. 
     

Compliance & Safety 

  • Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, FTA, and PUC licensing, reporting, and documentation requirements. 
  • Track and manage driver qualification files including CDL renewals, medical certificates, and driving records. 
  • Maintain and document a comprehensive departmental safety program, ensuring all required meetings and inspections are completed and logged. 
  • Conduct driver road tests and maintain required documentation for new hires.
     

Guest & Administrative Support 

  • Provide professional, courteous service to guests and homeowners. 
  • Respond to guest inquiries, transportation requests, and complaints with accuracy and professionalism. 
  • Coordinate with other resort departments to support special events, weddings, and outdoor guest operations. 
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and communications for management as needed.
  • Ensure all department communications are timely and accurate. 

Driving Duties 

  • Safely transport guests and employees in company vehicles as needed.
  • Operate vehicles in compliance with all resort, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions in adverse weather or traffic conditions.

Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications 
● CDL Class B or A with Passenger Endorsement (P2) — training or reimbursement available for qualified candidates. 
● Experience with resort operations or guest service leadership. 
● Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair scheduling. 
● High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. 

Working Environment / Physical Requirements 

  • Approximately 15% driving in resort and mountain environments, often in adverse weather (snow, ice, cold). 
  • Approximately 85% office work in administrative and supervisory settings.
  • Frequent use of 2-way radios, telephones, and computers. 
  • Occasional lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs. 
  • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and road hazards possible.
  • Constant use of visual acuity, spatial perception, and judgment is required.
