Job Description
The Process Engineer will provide process engineering and technical support for the Melt Shop, Electric Arc Furnace, Continuous Casting, and Electrical Power Distribution throughout the plant. This position will make recommendations on how to improve safety, environmental, quality and operational efficiencies, which can include changes/enhancements to current operating practices, as well as equipment upgrades and modifications.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying opportunities for improvements in the Power Distribution area.
- Implementing and support process improvement action plans
- Ability to safely lead and develop Linemen, and wiremen
- Providing cost estimates on process improvement projects
- Supporting and participating in CAPEX projects
- Performing a full range of process control duties in the Melt Shop and Electric Arc Furnace, energy balances, instrumentation analysis, and troubleshooting Power Distribution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related experience
- Extensive knowledge of Power Distribution for the plant as well as Substation maintenance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Ability to operate CAD software is preferred.
