About the Department
This position performs a variety of clerical accounting tasks, including data entry, recordkeeping, reconciliations, and processing financial transactions such as invoices, deposits, and payroll. The Accounting Technician II helps ensure compliance with State and Federal grant policies and supports the department’s financial accuracy and integrity.
The ideal candidate is familiar with Federal and State budgeting, organized, dependable, and skilled in bookkeeping, spreadsheets, and accounting systems. They take pride in precision, teamwork, and providing excellent service to staff, vendors, and community partners.

Position Duties
Reconcile and analyze financial data for multiple programs and funding sources. Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. Develop and maintain grant, project, and program budget reports. Audit and process payments, contracts, and invoices for accuracy and compliance. Monitor grants and contracts; prepare reimbursement requests and track expenditures. Assist with annual budgets, year-end reporting, and audit preparation. Provide financial guidance to program managers and staff. Supervise and train fiscal staff to ensure consistency and accuracy.
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting principles.
- Familiarity with GASB standards and public sector accounting practices.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prepare and interpret complex financial reports and statements.
- Skill in auditing and verifying financial transactions and records.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial and grant regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting required.
- Three (3) years relevant experience required.
