About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Manufacturing Test & Process Engineer with an electrical engineering background to support our production and quality assurance teams. This individual will be a hands-on problem solver who can design, develop, and maintain test and assembly fixtures, troubleshoot production issues, ensure compliance with aerospace/defense quality standards, and work cross-functionally with engineers, operators, auditors, and customers.
This is a unique role that blends technical expertise, creativity, and practical shop-floor experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-mix, low-volume, high-reliability environment and bring both engineering rigor and common-sense troubleshooting to complex manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain electrical test fixtures, mold/potting fixtures, and assembly tooling.
· Support production by testing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with electrical components and assemblies.
· Collaborate with QA to investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
· Generate and maintain test documentation, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
· Support final data package reviews and customer/auditor interactions.
· Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and customers to meet delivery and compliance goals.
· Apply industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 in daily work.
· Train and mentor production team members on proper test and assembly practices.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
· 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or process engineering in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics.
· Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with electrical assemblies.
· Experience developing test fixtures, assembly jigs, and potting/molding tools.
· Familiarity with AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and aerospace/defense quality standards.
· Ability to create and interpret drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
· Excellent communication skills; able to interact confidently with auditors, customers, and internal teams.
· Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to apply both technical knowledge and practical reasoning to production challenges.
Preferred Experience
· Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or mission-critical electronics manufacturing.
· Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement, lean practices, and root cause/corrective action methodologies.
· Proficiency in CAD or other design tools for fixture development.
