OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of and in coordination with the General Manager, the Community Engagement Manager plans, directs, and operationalizes all matters of the Co-op’s communications, member, shopper, and vendor engagement, as well as education, events, and community involvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Communications
- Develop and maintain a consistent TPSS Co-op brand across digital and print materials.
 - Create newsletters, store updates, promotional materials, and the Annual Report.
 - Manage email lists and member communication channels.
 
- Collaborate with department managers on marketing strategies, product promotions, and signage.
 - Encourage member participation and gather feedback to improve customer experience.
 - Analyze shopper behavior to inform marketing efforts.
 - Maintain the in-store member area and respond to shopper suggestions.
 
- Build relationships with vendors and coordinate in-store demos and event partnerships.
 - Share product feedback with vendors in collaboration with department managers.
 
- Plan and execute TPSS events (e.g., Earth Day), school tours, and educational opportunities.
 - Represent TPSS at local festivals and community events.
 
- Manage donation requests, Round-Up campaigns, and local partnerships.
 - Oversee community programs such as food donations and compost collection.
 - Serve as a liaison with community groups and initiatives.
 
- May supervise Community Engagement staff.
 - Perform additional duties as needed.
 
- A business, marketing, or public relations-related degree or equivalent successful professional experience in community outreach and development, membership management, or communications.
 - Knowledge of natural and organic foods and interest in the cooperative model are preferred
 - Skilled in marketing tools, including PR, writing, website management, and market research.
 - Experience with visual merchandising.
 - Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
 - Able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
 - Initiative-driven, reliable, and flexible to work occasionally off core hours.
 - Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job.
