How will our Service Training Specialist make an impact?

 

Job Duties (Will Include but Not Be Limited To)

  • Deliver and facilitate training for new hire lube technician employees on our processes and technologies
  • Design and develop creative, high-quality, interactive learning content classroom and hands-on training sessions (handouts, participant and facilitator materials, activities, etc.)
  • Design, develop, and update training programs tailored to the needs of lube technicians, providing clear instruction on oil changes, fluid exchanges, tire rotations, filter replacements, inspections, and other basic maintenance services
  • Incorporate training on safety standards, proper tool usage, and company procedures.
  • Assess and monitor training effectiveness through participant feedback and performance metrics
  • Provide follow-up coaching, ongoing support and refresher training as needed
  • Maintain training documentation, attendance records, and progress tracking.
  • Work in-store to coach current lube technicians and team leads to best support and grow their talent (travel 50% to Minneapolis area locations)
  • Partner with service managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to align training with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Support company technology and process rollouts as necessary
  • Support out of state locations as necessary (less than 10%)
  • Must wear safety eyewear at all times when in dealership service departments
  • Must wear hard-toed shoes and slip resistant footwear in when in dealership service departments

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a lube technician, trainer, or similar role in the automotive industry
  • Minimum of 1-year experience designing, developing, and evaluating learning (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of dealership or service center operations, including lube technician responsibilities
  • Knowledge of instructional systems design methodology, rapid design/development methodologies, adult learning theory, research methodology, and assessment tools (preferred)
  • Passion for teaching, motivating and coaching, with the ability to create and sustain strong working partnerships with all stakeholders across the organization
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) and dealership management systems (DMS)
  • Proven success in driving measurable improvements in lube technician performance
  • Skilled in analyzing performance metrics and identifying trends to pinpoint areas of improvement
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
  • Be a team player with a friendly, positive attitude
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn new technology, products and services
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Moving and walking around the Corporate Office, Service Bay, and/or other Walser locations
  • Sitting, standing, reaching, bending
  • Utilizing a computer for day-to-day tasks and electronic technology required by OEMs
