In this position, under regular supervision of the POE Manager, this position assists in the maintenance of the agency's data managements and patient accounts systems by performing the following duties. 

 

Position Logistics

  • 37.5-hour work week (5-day work week)
  • Routinely 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM shifts Monday - Friday
  • Flex Schedule and occasional overtime as approved by supervisor. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:

 

  • Admissions/POE: 
  1. Process the point of entry for new patients and patients re-entering services.
  2. Greet incoming patients, verify identity, and accurately enter information required including demographics, payment source and other information required for admission into the electronic health record system.
  3. Explain legal consents, program forms, and other intake information during the point of entry process while obtaining necessary signatures.
  4. Obtains insurance information for patients with third party coverage and enters the payment source in the patient database and notify appropriate staff.
  5. Assist patients with questions or concerns regarding the POE/admission process.

 

     

  • Patient Account Services:       
  1. Process financial assessment applications for various grants and financial assessment programs.
  2. Cover the patient accounts window as needed, including collecting, logging payments, and handling any billing inquiries.
  3. Enter patient services accurately in a timely manner.

 

 

  • Auditing:
  1. Monitor and process caseload report for re engagement.
  2. Monitor, adjust and approve Treatment Scholarship applicants.
  3. Mail out FA approval letters.
  4. Generate/Monitor payer reports to ensure accurate payers are entered and end dated as applicable.
  5. Monitor the incomplete POE Module.

 

 

MARGINAL DUTIES include the following:     

  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Reports to work at scheduled time 
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

Minimum Education and/or Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required;
  • An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is desired.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training are also required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
