Senior Project Engineer, Electrical Integration

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer in Electrical Integration to deliver on-going client projects, and to further develop the capabilities of the team.
You will join a team responsible for the specification, implementation and validation of control, electronic and electrical systems for a wide range of complex, clean propulsion and energy systems, including: xEV powertrains, power electronics, motors and drives, engines, transmissions, battery management systems, advanced thermal systems, and fuel cell systems. This will cover the full spectrum of electrical integration for control systems, from architecture definition and component selection, through to production harness and electrical distribution.
In this role, you will be responsible for integration of electrical systems and components into complex products and platforms but may be expected to support other technical domains.
In this role you will
- Develop of new electrical system architectures
- Develop of electrical integration solutions for new and existing platforms.
- Select components
- Create and maintain of wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and system schematics
- Integrate sensors, actuators, control units, and communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
- Liaise with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure compatibility and performance
- Conduct system-level testing and validation of integrated electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to power distribution, signal integrity, and communication protocols, and provide hands-on support to builds
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
- Document integration processes, test results, and change management records.
- Lead other team members in the delivery of solutions
- Mentor of junior team members on assigned tasks.
- Interface directly with clients and suppliers on technical issues
- Report technical status internally and to customers
Requirements
- Degree in electrical, electronics, or similar engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in successful deployment of complex electrical systems
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, wiring harnesses, and circuit protection.
- Experience providing technical leadership to engineering project teams
- Experience with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc).
- Proficiency in CAD tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable Competencies and Experience
- Experience with embedded systems and control units
- Experience with industrial control systems
- Knowledge of functional safety standards and practices (especially ISO 13849 and ISO 26262)
- Experience with prototype development and testing
