Position Description
The School of Health Professions is looking for a graduate student in an institution within the Texas Tech University System employed in support of the "Transformative Collaborative Gift to Accelerate Research on Urinary Tract Infections" mission of the unit, its director or faculty, in laboratory, library, field, or computer work, or such other activities that may assist in the unit's research efforts. This position works under the guidance of a postdoctoral researcher. In this role, the student research assistant will contribute to data collection, laboratory procedures, and preliminary analysis, while receiving direct mentorship, to provide cost-effective research support and ensure continuity of project progress.

Major/Essential Functions
- Developing microfluidic sensors for leukocyte activation in urine.
- Performs isolation/separation of cells from samples for phenotyping.
- Collects generation of data for publications, co-authoring manuscripts for peer review.
- Conducting cytometry, genomics, and other biochemical assays of antigen expression in activated leukocytes.
- Manages authoring/editing of manuscripts, proposals, and other research documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.

- BS or MS in the area of project specialization for a research assistant position.
- Knowledge of modern research practices (methods, resources, and standards).
