POSITION SUMMARY

The Packaging Woodshop Technician will work with a team of packaging engineers to build custom wooden and plastic molds, utilizing a CNC router along with other basic woodshop equipment.  Assist in the design and development of creative packaging solutions for an endless stream of products from prospective and existing customers in the Midwest.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with wood working equipment and ability to safely operate table saw, band saw, sanding machines, and other wood and plastic machining tools
  • Use hand tools such as drills, nail guns, chisels, and hand sanders to trim pieces or assemble products
  • Experience using automated machinery such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Experience with CAD modeling utilizing SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhinoceros 3D
  • Ability to verify dimensions using tape measure or caliper and understand blueprints
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong ability to visualize in three dimensions
  • Lift heavy loads properly and safely
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and demanding work environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate a CNC router to run pre-programmed toolpaths
  • Assemble and finish custom mold tooling in plywood and HDPE materials
  • Package and ship completed mold tooling to customers
  • Assist with equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Operate various wood working tools, including the table saw, band saw, and power drill
  • General cleaning of the woodshop including sweeping and emptying trash
