Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for multiple Mental Health Clinicians (PECT) to join our growing team on a either a full-time, part-time, or casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in providing high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health assessment and treatment to people in crisis across the Gippsland region.

As a Mental Health Clinician within PECT, you will provide timely, evidence-based assessment and intervention to consumers presenting with acute mental health needs. You will:

  • Conduct risk and mental state assessments in emergency and triage settings.
  • Deliver recovery-oriented care using the Optimal Health Program.
  • Develop collaborative safety plans with consumers, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide telephone-based triage and crisis intervention to the Gippsland region.
  • Work closely with emergency department staff and community services to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

This dynamic role requires flexibility, clinical confidence, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals and families during times of distress.

About you

You are a motivated and empathetic clinician who values teamwork, communication, and respect.

 

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications and registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Speech Pathologist (with relevant professional body).
  • Experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and collaborative care.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and relevant family violence frameworks.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in mental health or emergency triage services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NSQHS Standards and organisational risk and safety practices.
