Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago partners with mission-driven people and organizations across Cook and Lake counties to witness a message of mercy and hope to a world in need by improving lives and nourishing spirits; strengthening and empowering people, families, and communities; and committing to being present to our times through the eyes of faith.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Client and Community Impact (CCI) is a strategic and mission-driven leader overseeing a 4--6-person team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The VP-CCI will serve as a member of CCAC's senior leadership team with the goal of collaborating with their peers to support and strengthen an evidence-based culture of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation. This culture will, in turn, create powerful stories of impact and transformation that this leader's team will also help us to tell.

The goal is to create best-in-class, data-driven systems for tracking our service programs and teams to ensure CCAC is delivering the highest impact possible for each person, family, and community we serve. Partnering with leaders in Programs, Data & Technology, and Outreach & Engagement., this leader will ensure that the way we care for people each day is not only compassionate and generous, but also highly effective and, whenever possible, transformative.

The Vice President will have the opportunity to build and grow a high-performing team, architect systems and structures from the ground up, and lead the development of a strategic framework that drives measurable impact.  Their team will equip CCAC leaders and teams with the data and evidence needed to document, improve, and innovate on program performance and effectiveness. They will also support outreach leaders with the data and stories needed to demonstrate the full impact of our work to donors, funders, volunteers, and the broader community.

This role partners closely with CCAC's Data Strategy & Insights (DSI) Team, which manages the technical aspects of data collection, automation, and reporting. While DSI ensures the digital backbone of CCAC's data systems, the CCI team focuses on the strategic use of data -- guiding what is collected, how it is interpreted, and how it is used to drive learning, innovation, and storytelling across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a team of contract writers, photographers, and storytellers to build a dynamic Impact Story Bank.

  • Ensure stories are used effectively across fundraising, outreach, and advocacy efforts.

  • Collaborate with Outreach & Engagement to align storytelling with strategic communications and donor engagement.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing, mission-driven team of 4--6 staff over a 2--3 year period.

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team members.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and purpose-driven team culture.

  • Set clear goals, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

Strategic Partnerships & External Collaboration

  • Cultivate relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and peer nonprofits to enhance CCAC's impact measurement and innovation capabilities.

  • Represent CCAC in external forums, conferences, and collaborative initiatives focused on data, impact, and community transformation.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for joint research, shared learning, and community-based evaluation.

  • Ensure CCAC remains at the forefront of best practices in nonprofit impact measurement and storytelling.

  • Contribute to a joy-filled culture built upon respect and inclusion, team pride, and community spirit.
