PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS) is an independent veterinary ownership model that is rapidly growing inside PetSmart locations in the US and Puerto Rico. PVS provides a complete solution for veterinarians to open their own franchised veterinary practice. Launched in 2022, PVS hospitals connect pet parents with local, trusted veterinarians with convenient veterinarian hospital locations within PetSmart stores. It’s a simple but powerful solution that gives veterinarians ownership and control of their practice while providing high-quality veterinary care.
About the Location:Collaborative & Flexible Work Environment: We believe in fostering growth, teamwork and creativity in a dynamic workplace. This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office. About the Job:Role Overview
We’re seeking a go-getter Senior Sourcer & Lead Qualifier to own the top-of-funnel pipeline, building a pipeline of veterinarians for hospital ownership. Your mission is to identify, engage, and qualify veterinarians who are ready to step into practice ownership, then pass them off to the regional sales team for deeper discovery and next steps.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies and candidate personas with a focus on veterinarians.
- Use Boolean searches, social media, job boards, referrals, and professional/veterinary networks to identify both active and passive candidates.
- Conduct personalized outreach and qualification calls to assess ownership fit, readiness, and interest.
- Evaluate prospects against ownership criteria including licensure, financial readiness, leadership potential, and business sense.
- Build rapport and communicate our franchise model and value proposition.
- Maintain an organized candidate pipeline in CRM/ATS, complete with notes and handoff documentation.
- Partner with franchise sales leadership to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Provide market intelligence on trends, competitor activity, and the veterinary ownership landscape.
- Attend industry events and conferences to source and network with veterinarians.
- Track and continuously improve sourcing metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years (or more) of solid experience in talent sourcing or lead qualification.
- Veterinary or medical recruitment experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time
- Skilled in ATS/CRM systems, Boolean searches, and pipeline management.
- AIRS or other sourcing certification desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, metrics-driven, and able to work independently.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
