About the role

CNC Process Technician (Programmer) - (Rotating Shifts - 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm - Mon to Fri)

Mentor the CNC setters in best practice of setting up new and existing CNC processes, facilitate continuous improvement efforts by taking a positive lead position, use techniques and methodologies such as 5S, TPM, Six Sigma, Poke-Yoke, OEE, Process SQC, and process optimisation. Ensure all information is successfully transitioned across all shifts while keeping communication at a high level.

What you will be doing

Working with the Metal Forming Supervisor, assisting with the planning of daily operations with the allocation of departmental resource, ensuring all jobs are completed on time and to quality standards.

Whilst maintaining control of all administration activities in supervisors absence. Support the team to maintain and improve the acceptable level of production, quality in accordance to standard work

• Support Production Manufacturing when required to fulfil customer orders on time.
• Facilitate continuous improvement and share responsibility with the Metal forming supervisor when representing CNC / metal forming in the monthly prod quad meetings.
• Drive productivity within the cell and optimise OEE across all machines, and maintain a high level of customer focus, and audit existing processes to streamline work through the cell, synchronizing work schedules etc.
• Work with relevant departments to effectively analyse data, to improve existing processes and implement new projects to add value to the metal forming cell, being involved in all aspects of the process from tool design to sign off, part trials, tooling optimization and completion of all relevant process documentation. Raise ECP’s, PRN’s and 368’s.

• Apprentice served if possible
• HNC or CNC in Engineering desired
• 3D CAD experience (NX)
• Team Leader experience desired
