Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
Anthesis is seeking highly motivated candidates to join our Human Rights team based in London. We are the legacy human rights team of Wallbrook, a leading consultancy that was merged with Anthesis in June 2023. We are a fast-growing team and are looking for resourceful, diligent and proactive candidates.
The successful candidate will have excellent qualitative research skills, be a naturally gifted writer, and display an innate sense of curiosity about human rights, international affairs, public policy and global markets. The candidate will either be a recent graduate (with a relevant human rights/social science focused degree) or a graduate with 1-3 years’ relevant experience who is looking to further their career in human rights.
Candidates who have lived, worked and/or travelled across the following regions are strongly encouraged to apply: Africa, Latin America, India and Southeast Asia.
Working proficiency of additional languages is a plus. We are particularly looking for candidates who are fluent in French.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct human rights impact and risk assessments, human rights investigations, human rights due diligence and other human rights-related research.
- Conduct semi-structured interviews with human rights experts and impacted rightsholders, and in-depth open source research.
- Write concise, cogent summary reports; present findings to clients and assist on implementation plans.
- Participate in site visits with the team and coordinate remote site visits across the world.
- Engage with companies, policymakers, NGOs, journalists and other members of civil society on business & human rights issues.
- Design proposals and pitch business & human rights projects to potential clients.
Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise
We require as a minimum these qualifications and experience:
- A demonstrable understanding of and interest in human rights – experience in the sector is highly desirable; and
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
- Impeccable English-language writing skills;
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail;
- Time management skills: ability to prioritize multiple competing projects under tight deadlines;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite;
- Proactivity and resourcefulness;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all areas of work; and
- Respond well to feedback.
Location: London (Hybrid – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office in Farringdon).
