The Opportunity:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic perfusion scientist to join the Centre for Precision Cell Therapy for the Liver (PRaCTicAL). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering ex-vivo machine perfusion to facilitate the development of novel cellular therapies to treat liver disease and diabetes.  You will be based at the newly developed Organ Perfusion Research Facility within the Institute of Regeneration and Repair at the University of Edinburgh.  You will be part of a team of scientists and clinicians across the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian that have come together to deliver the translation of precision cellular therapies from bench-side to clinical trials. 

 

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. 

 

The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Degree qualification (eg. BSc/BNurs or equivalent) 
  • Additional recognised qualification or training in perfusion 
  • Previous experience in machine perfusion (ex-vivo or in-vivo)
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
