MISSION

In one or two sentences, outline the primary purpose(s) of this position within the organization

 

  • To install, move, or upgrade equipment in the blowmolding perimeter following internal standards and developing new ones as applicable.
  • The Blowmolding Group Leader is responsible to ensure a common approach to solving machinery and or process selection problems, where possible and to apply common solutions across the machine portfolio.

 

Responsibilities & Activities

Outline the key areas of responsibility for this position, including the related activities and eventual authorities

  • Ensure the common approach to solving machinery and or process problems, through the development of Best Practices and specifications.
    • The knowledge learned is to be documented and shared across the Corp. This will help to reduce individual facility resources’ time spent solving the same problems.

 

  • Drive for unification across our machine portfolio.
    • This will help to implement standards and upgrades in a more rapid fashion.  Examples include PLC logic, safety circuits, flow and pressure sensors, etc.

 

  • Develop specifications for manufacturing solutions for area of responsibility (Blow Molding). 
    • This work to include required R&D to create manufacturing solutions for new products and work with simulations to optimize the design.
    • Work with Purchasing to obtain and evaluate RFQ’s (Requests for Quotation) for machine improvements, changes, and moves.
    • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of projects.

 

  • Develop budget plans for machine moves and upgrades.  Request funds through Opmobility tools such as Apollo, e-dai’s, and SAP for purchase requisitions.  Complete Goods Receipts in a timely fashion or challenge suppliers on open issues.

 

  • Work with the importation team to properly define the purchased components and other activities to optimize the timing for shipments.

 

  • Assist Plants / facilities in root cause problem solving for process, equipment, or quality issues as required.

 

  • Support of the WW Standardization process through the development of Knowledge Management documentation for either equipment in the area of responsibility

 

  • Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints

 

  • Unusual hours and travel will be required at times.  Travel can exceed 75% for some projects.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Solid team player
  • Energetic and positive even during times of adversity
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

 

Job Technical skills

  • 5+ years experience in large part industrial blow molding
  • Plastic materials, especially HDPE, EVOH, and Adhesives
  • Controls and automation familiarity
  • Solid troubleshooting skills

 

Job Soft skills

  • Ability to write comprehensive specifications
  • Ability to complete detailed commissioning documentation
  • Good communication skills, including with other nationalities
