Position Summary
The Manual Machinist / Warehouse Technician is responsible for operating manual machining equipment and supporting general warehouse functions to ensure efficient production and material flow. This hybrid role combines hands-on machining skills with warehouse and material-handling duties to support daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Machining Duties:
Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine machining operations.
Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
Warehouse / Material Handling Duties:
Receive, store, and issue raw materials, components, and finished products as required.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and stock management.
Prepare and package products for shipment following company and customer requirements.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and organizing materials in designated areas.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating manual machining equipment.
Familiarity with warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, and inventory control.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or inventory systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, and manual handling of materials.
Exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and machinery.
