Lawn Care and General Maintenance Laborer presso Warrick County School Corporation

Purpose of Position:

The purpose of this position is to safely, and efficiently perform a variety of duties in relation to lawn care and general maintenance of WCSC properties.  

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Maintain all WCSC grounds: mowing, trimming, cutting trees, spraying weeds, etc.
• Snow/ice removal as needed.
• Moving furniture, delivering equipment and educational supplies throughout WCSC properties.
• Collect and provide WCSC pool samples to the Health Department for examination.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Regularly replenish water softeners with salt throughout all WCSC properties.
• Assist other WCSC specialized tradesmen and staff members when needed.
• Perform other related essential duties as required.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• High School graduate with two years prior related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Acceptable driving record
• Applicant who holds or willingness to acquire a Class B CDL is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely operate a variety of lawn care equipment and power tools, including: commercial lawn mowers, zero turn lawn mowers, reel mowers, batwing mowers, push mowers, tractors, weed eaters, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, blowers, forklifts, scissor lifts, bucket truck, dump trucks, etc.  
• Ability to physically exert up to one hundred pounds of force occasionally and negligible amount of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment, while being exposed to varying types of weather.
