Position Duties

Are you someone with shift lead or coordinator experience looking for a fun and engaging way to bring in some additional income this holiday season? If so, this may just be the role for you! We are excited about this opportunity for you to join Pierce County in a temporary role as a Fantasy Lights Coordinator. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the area’s most beloved holiday lights exhibit and ensuring the safety of employees and guests. This role involves assigning nightly staff positions, providing breaks, transporting staff to their positions, and preparing the park each night for the event. You will also be responsible for reporting incidents, completing necessary paperwork, and addressing any operational issues as they arise.

We provide recreation programs and infrastructure in active and passive parks and trails. The department consists of three divisions: Parks and Recreation, Administration, and Resource Stewardship. Core Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee nightly event operations in alignment with established guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and guests within the park.
  • Assign nightly staff positions and coordinate employee breaks
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly, ensuring that all incidents are properly documented and reported. Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Prepare the park for the event, ensuring all areas meet safety and operational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and supervisor.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, addressing guest concerns and ensuring a positive experience for park visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while standing or walking for long durations
  • Ability to lift or move equipment to set up for events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous shift lead, coordinator, or supervisory experience is desired
