Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent in this position is responsible for independently performing a full range of compliance-related tasks in the technical analysis and review of environmental data and issues in support of and in accordance with the Mohegan Environmental Protection Department (MEPD) Regulations, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Working knowledge of the State of Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection permits for discharge of wastewater associated with Industrial and commercial activities, including swimming pools, vehicle maintenance and food preparation.
- Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 40 including: SPCC, RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, TCSA, FIFRA. Department of Transportation (DOT) training in hazardous materials shipments and emergency responses would be helpful.
- Ability to read gauges and instrumentation used in testing and the mathematical ability to perform unit conversions and calculations.
- Ability to read construction plans and documents.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Technical report writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Associate's degree in environmental science or engineering (or similar field of study) and some environmental field experience.
- Experience with Federal Environmental Protection regulations and enforcement inspections (apply on Federal Trust Land) or with CTDEEP (apply on Non-Trust Lands).
- Field experience in erosion and sedimentation control inspections in conjunction with construction activities, stormwater monitoring (rain gauge) hazardous waste storage area, dumpster, and recycle inspections using the tablet.
