Job Summary 

The Sr. Industrial Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and build lasting customer relationships within the industrial polymer extrusion market. This role requires knowledge of strategic industrial market segments, polymer extrusion products, processing and applications, and strong B2B sales experience with industrial clients. The ideal candidate will mentor the industrial sales staff, lead a field-based and inside sales team, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure product offerings align with market demands. This sales leadership role will be based in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

 

Responsibilities

Strategic Sales and Business Development

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Identify, target, and acquire new clients within key industries such as aerospace, energy, semiconductor, and life sciences.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and refine sales strategies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and other networking events to promote products and expand the company's network.

 

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary commercial and technical advisor for major accounts, fostering strong, long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct in-depth technical and commercial discussions with clients to offer customized polymer extrusion solutions that meet their specific manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for complex and large volume orders, from lead generation to contract negotiation and post-sale support.
  • Work closely with existing customers to understand their evolving needs and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Use customer feedback to generate ideas for new features or products and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Manage customer escalations to resolve discrepancies, customer dissatisfaction and disputes.

 

Sales Administration:

Oversee the sales administration process, ensuring compliance with sales, finance, and legal policies.

Drive sales efficiencies through adoption of EDI and sales automation processes using business transaction portals and online sales channels.

Manage schedules and sales territories to ensure full coverage of accounts and internal sales administration activities.

Enforce corporate pricing policies and oversee quotation processes including proposals to drive ASP and top line revenue growth.

 

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing coaching, guidance, and support to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Develop sales team members through training and mentorship, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Monitor sales performance, provide regular reports to senior management, and manage the sales budget.

Maintain business management workstreams for account management, sales pipeline management, Business Reviews, forecasting and lead-to-order management.

Manage personnel development workstreams through Personal Development Plans, Performance Reviews, and awards and recognition programs.

 

Inter-Departmental Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including research and development (R&D), commercial marketing, production, engineering, quality, legal, and finance to align product offerings with market demands.
  • Ensure a seamless customer journey by working with manufacturing and service teams to provide excellent pre- and post-sales support.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, delivering compelling presentations on sales performance and market insights.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field

An M.B.A. or equivalent is preferred.

5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in polymer extrusion or a related industrial manufacturing sector.

Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and managing complex B2B sales cycles.

Extensive knowledge of polymer materials, plastics processing, and the industrial manufacturing landscape.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team.

Excellent organizational skills for efficiency and accuracy in work and document management

Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and analytics tools.

Willingness to travel extensively to meet with clients and attend industry events. 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience in selling complex technical products and solutions.

Ability to deliver compelling commercial presentations.

Knowledge of market developments, industry trends, and competitor activity.
