JOB TITLE: Admissions Counselor

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
An Admissions Counselor at Dordt University aims to drive student enrollment by strategically engaging prospective students and families through personalized outreach. Leveraging technology and collaboration, this role is crucial in promoting the university's unique academic and spiritual offerings, guiding students through the admissions process, and supporting institutional enrollment objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Territory Management: Craft and execute enrollment strategies for an assigned territory, analyzing key areas for targeted outreach to schools and churches, leveraging customer relationship management (CRM) technology for effective tracking and engagement.
- Engagement and Relationship Building: Establish and build relationships with potential students, parents, and school leaders through visits and personalized outreach, emphasizing Dordt University’s Christ-centered values and mission statement.
- Communication and Personalized Follow-Up: Utilize a mix of direct visits, calls, texts, emails, and handwritten letters for tailored, consistent communication with prospective students. Employ CRM system and tools to ensure timely follow-ups.
- Comprehensive Prospect Support: Oversee the admissions process for each prospective student, gathering essential information and addressing inquiries with a focus on academic, financial, and spiritual fit.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Maintain precise records of interactions and outcomes, using insights based on the CRM to refine recruitment strategies and report on progress towards enrollment goals.
- Campus Visit Day Enhancement: Contribute to the execution of Campus Visit Days, showcasing the university’s academic, community, and spiritual life.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with financial aid, academic advising, athletics, music, and student services to present a holistic view of the university experience, facilitating a seamless transition for new students.
- Adaptable Participation: Adapt to evolving recruitment needs to align with university priorities, ready to take on additional tasks that support team objectives and enhance prospective student experiences.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
- Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

- Bachelor's degree required.
- High level of internal motivation and desire to meet collaboratively established performance goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills.
- Experience in marketing, public relations, or sales is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to utilize electronic communication strategies to contact perspective students, including e-mail, texting, social media, and any other effective communication tools.
- Desire to work with prospective students who are high school age, as well as their families.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a willingness to do extensive traveling and work evenings and weekends.
