POSITION: Fall Play Assistant Producer
LOCATION: Ellensburg High School
REPORTS TO: Fall Play Producer / Activities Coordinator / Principal
Job Description
The Fall Play Assistant Producer supports the Producer in overseeing the non-artistic elements of the production. This position helps coordinate logistics, communication, and organizational tasks to ensure the production runs smoothly and students have a positive and educational experience. The Assistant Producer works closely with the Producer, Director, staff, students, and families, contributing to the management of scheduling, budgeting, facilities, and publicity, while fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
Essential Job Functions
Production Support
- Assist the Producer in coordinating auditions, rehearsals, performances, and strike.
- Track progress of sets, costumes, props, and technical elements to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support the Producer and Director in ensuring the production remains student-centered and aligned with school goals.
Communication and Coordination
- Help maintain clear communication among staff, students, parents, and volunteers.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day questions or updates, escalating issues to the Producer when necessary.
- Assist with scheduling rehearsals and facility use.
Financial and Administrative Support
- Assist with purchasing, receipt submission, and record-keeping in compliance with ASB regulations.
- Help track expenses and revenues to ensure budget accountability.
- Support preparation of required reports and inventories.
Publicity and Ticketing
- Assist with publicity efforts, including programs, posters, and social media.
- Support the setup and management of ticketing systems and front-of-house operations.
Student and Volunteer Support
- Mentor and guide student officers, cast, and crew in collaboration with the Producer.
- Help coordinate parent and community volunteers.
- Promote teamwork, responsibility, and respect among all participants.
Compliance and Supervision
- Support adherence to school and district policies, safety standards, and ASB regulations.
- Assist with building access, supervision, and closing facilities during rehearsals and performances.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of required district trainings (Blood Borne Pathogen, Sexual Harassment, etc.).
Qualifications
- Knowledge of theatre production processes.
- Familiarity with stage management, technical theatre, or event coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work positively with students, staff, parents, and community volunteers.
- Commitment to supporting a student-centered, inclusive production environment.
