Planned ParenthoodNorthern California (PPNorCal) is seeking a Digital Marketing & Design Specialist. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week (Hybrid). SUMMARY
Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Digital Marketing & Design Specialist to support our organization’s fundraising and donor engagement, marketing, and communications efforts. This role is responsible for executing aspects of digital marketing—including email marketing, website content updates, and social media—as well as designing compelling visual collateral for fundraising campaigns, donor events, and special initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced digital communicator and graphic designer who can bring our brand and message to life across multiple platforms and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design & Brand Implementation
- Design all published fundraising collateral including brochures, invitations, donor reports, event signage, campaign graphics, and digital assets.
- Translate complex content and data into clear, accessible, and visually compelling design.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with PPNorCal’s brand guidelines across all materials.
- Manage relationships with print vendors, freelancers, and other creative vendors as needed.
Email Marketing & Digital Communications
- Manage end-to-end email marketing for fundraising and donor engagement efforts: build, test, schedule, and deploy emails in EveryAction.
- Collaborate with Development and Government Relations and Communications staff to translate donor messaging and fundraising goals into engaging and visually appealing email campaigns.
- Maintain email marketing calendar and ensure strategic, timely, and donor-centric communications.
- Track performance metrics and provide analysis and recommendations to optimize engagement and conversion.
Website & Digital Content Management
- Manage updates to donor-related content on the PPNorCal website, including campaign landing pages, event pages, and giving opportunities.
- Partner with the Development and Government Relations and Communications teams to ensure alignment of messaging and branding across platforms.
- Monitor website performance and user experience related to donor pathways and engagement.
- Manage and grow organizational social media channels by creating and scheduling content, monitoring engagement and performance metrics, and leveraging tools to maximize efficiency and reach; collaborate with Government Relations and Communications team to develop and implement cross-platform social media strategies that align with organizational priorities and campaigns.
Fundraising Support & Project Management
- Provide general support for fundraising campaigns, development initiatives, and cross-departmental projects.
- Assist with planning and execution of donor and fundraising events, including digital promotion, materials, and onsite support as needed.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deliverables, timelines, and assets related to development communications.
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications teams to ensure integrated strategies and timely execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, graphic design, or related field, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., EveryAction, Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva.
- Experience with website content management systems (WordPress or similar).
- Strong understanding of design principles, visual hierarchy, and accessibility best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Collaborative and self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to reproductive freedom, health equity, and Planned Parenthood’s mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fundraising, development, or government relations teams.
- Familiarity with CRMs and donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
- Experience with video editing and basic animation a plus.

Pay Range: The wage scale reflects the compensation that a new employee can expect to receive if offered employment. The wage scale for this position is $69,992 to $83,636.80 annualized salary, based on relevant professional years of experience.
