Position Summary:
The Dispatch Security Officer is responsible for delivering important communication to Security Management, Security Officers, EMT Officers, and Tribal Police via the organization's communication network to ensure the safety and security of Guests, Team Members, and company property and assets. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Gun Lake Casino Resort standards, policies, and procedures.

In this Role:
- Promptly answer incoming radio and phone calls professionally and complete the caller’s request.
- Prioritize requests for assistance and dispatch appropriate personnel following established procedures.
- Remain calm and composed when speaking to Guests and Team Members in stressful situations.
- Develop knowledge of emergency communication procedures, monitoring system, and controls.
- Monitoring of the surveillance system as required.
- Monitoring of the Simplex system for all alarms.
- Maintain complete and accurate logs and records.
- Answer Guests' questions and provide assistance when needed.
- Communicate effectively in all emergencies, including but not limited to, fires, medical emergencies, and criminal activity.
- Receive and dispatch calls to transport and protect company funds, table fills, escorts, guest complaints, guest assists, jump-starts, disturbances, etc.
- Escort Team Members to and from their vehicles when requested.
- Observe, report, and take action as directed by the Supervisor with respect to all suspicious or unusual situations.
- Document all incidents as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- Operate the Security Dispatch Center.
- Have working knowledge of, and enforce all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Must possess good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, iTrak, and Adobe Suite.
- Responsible for checking in visitors, Team Members, and guests utilizing the visitor management system.
- Ability to work variable and/or rotating shifts which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive team-oriented work environment for all.
- Interact with Guests in a friendly and courteous manner and handle all Guest opportunities.
- Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s Four Diamond Standards.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- 6 months of experience as a Casino Security Officer with successful completion of the dispatch training module or two (2) years of experience in a dispatch position required.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record Check preferred.
- Work experience in the gaming or hospitality industry preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must have knowledge of SDS booklet location(s) for your area.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Must possess or be able to obtain an Alcohol Awareness Card (TIPS) certification. If not already certified, training will be provided.
- CPR/AED Certification required. If not currently certified Gun Lake Casino Resort will provide certification.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs and testify in court on and off duty.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for duration of shift.
- Position requires being seated for long periods of time.
- Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.
- Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
- Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
- Ability to subdue a person(s) in altercations.
- Ability to drag an unconscious person during an evacuation.
- Ability to access all properties and areas.
- Acute sense of smell and sound, and the ability to communicate using a two-way radio and telephone.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, stairs, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
