Position Summary:
Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Under direction supervise the operation of the Security Department. Maintain a safe and secure environment for our guests, Team Members, and company assets.

In this Role:
- Supervise, plan, and schedule security duties for the Security Team Members as directed by management.
- Assign work to Security Team Members and establish priorities.
- Train, inspect, and evaluate Security Team Members for alertness, appearance, and proper performance while on duty and correct deficiencies.
- Advise the employment, promotion, and termination of Security Team Members.
- Respond to all non-routine incidents in a supervisory capacity ensuring appropriate action is taken and notifications are made.
- Supervise and evaluate security reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all incidents are thoroughly investigated, appropriate action is taken, and notifications are made.
- Assist in hiring, training, counseling, and evaluation of Security Team Members.
- Maintain clear and open communication upward, downward, and laterally as appropriate.
- Conduct follow-up investigations on reports as directed.
- Interact with Team Members, Guests, and/or the general public in a consistent manner and in the best interests of the organization.
- Assist in establishing, administering, and evaluating department policies and objectives, including standards of performance.
- Ensure Gaming Commission Regulations and requirements are met and followed by all Security Team Members.
- In the event of a life-threatening fire, shooting, flood, or other disaster, the Security Shift Supervisor will assist in coordinating the emergency activities including notification of police, fire, Director of Security, and General Manager until the arrival of the responsible emergency department or executive.
- Determine and recommend changes to improve security operations.
- Provide and create a Guest experience that exceeds Guest expectations and builds loyalty.
- Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and treat one another the way we treat Guests to create an energized, positive work atmosphere.
- Practice excellent grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate, and nametag worn at all times.
- Give full attention to Guest opportunities and take ownership of these opportunities to ensure Guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s Four Diamond Standards.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- High school diploma or successful completion of a GED Certificate required. College degree preferred.
- Required one (1) year of continuous service as a Casino Security Officer, one (1) year in Security Management within the gaming industry, or one (1) year in Law Enforcement.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form. Ability to effectively complete required documentation.
- Possess strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, ADP, iTrak, and other relevant software applications.
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written format to Guests and various levels of organizational Team Members.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize work, and train Security Officers in the performance of their duties.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Must possess or be able to obtain an Alcohol Awareness Card (TIPS) certification. If not already certified, training will be provided.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to relate to Guests and Team Members.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs and testify in court on and off duty.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Strength to subdue a person(s). Must be able to run after suspects and have the stamina to climb stairs, sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to drag an unconscious person during an evacuation.
- Requires an acute sense of smell and hearing and the ability to communicate clearly on a two-way radio and telephone.
- May require lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Further physical requirements include but not limited to standing, kneeling/crouching, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, grasping/handling, and reaching.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
