QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience and Training
- Minimum four years’ experience planning events and conferences or two years’ experience in Admissions in higher education required
- Proven track record of managing professional and student teams towards ambitious goals
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor staff
- Experience developing vision and strategy for guest experience
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Effective written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to balance complex processes and systems simultaneously
- Track record of superior performance metrics
- Project management skills
- Technical proficiency in Office365 Suite, Airtable or other Project Management Software, and Slate or other comparable CRM
- Attention to detail with organization and logistics
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekend hours
- Negotiation with vendors to ensure best value to university
- Ability to work with internal and external partners to ensure an extraordinary guest experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Vision & Leadership
- Sets and communicates a clear vision for HPU’s guest experience, ensuring the campus visit is nationally recognized for innovation and excellence.
- Inspires a culture of hospitality and extraordinary service across all Admissions guest-facing initiatives.
- Serves as the primary strategist for campus visit innovation, anticipating trends and creating new ways to engage prospective students and families.
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers, and managers
Team Oversight
- Leads and mentors three teams (Campus Visit, Enrollment Events, Admissions Outreach), providing direction, accountability, and professional development.
- Oversees a staff of up to 10 full-time employees and more than 100 student employees, ensuring alignment with HPU’s values and enrollment objectives.
- Delegates operational responsibilities effectively while maintaining high standards of execution.
- Manages event assignments and distribution among Event Coordinators.
Strategic Partnerships
- Strengthens relationships with University Events, Transportation, Hospitality, Academic Affairs, and other campus partners.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to ensure academic programs are effectively represented in the guest experience.
- Negotiates agreements with vendors and external partners to maximize value and quality.
Operational Excellence
- Ensures flawless execution of high-profile enrollment events and campus visits by setting expectations and overseeing staff performance.
- Ensures a “WOW” experience for all Enrollment events and visits of prospective students and their families
- Manages budgets for events, food, and hospitality, ensuring resources are aligned with guest experience goals (Special Events and Food GLs)
- Maintains accountability for fleet, inventory, and logistical resources supporting the guest experience.
- Oversees all inventory (gifts, publications, office supplies) for Office of Enrollment
Continuous Improvement
- Monitors and analyzes guest experience data, survey feedback, and attendance trends to drive ongoing improvement.
- Establishes key performance indicators such as visitor satisfaction scores, attendance rates, and year-over-year growth in visits.
- Implement new ideas and initiatives that elevate the overall impact of the campus visit.
- Accountable for ensuring fleet of golf carts are maintained at a level of excellence
- Performs other duties as assigned

The Director of Admissions Guest Experience is accountable for setting and sustaining the vision that every prospective student and family experiences The Best Campus Visit Experience in America. Success in this role is measured not only by operational excellence, but by inspiring innovation, increasing visitor satisfaction, growing attendance, and reinforcing HPU’s reputation for extraordinary hospitality.
- Contributes to the achievement of HPU’s recruitment objectives and goals
- Responsible for monitoring and maximizing attendance numbers at each event and creating conditions for year-over-year growth of on campus visitors
- Responsible for inspecting the quality and improving the entire campus visit experience
- Increasing satisfaction scores on visitor surveys
- Maintain an attendance rate of >85% for all events
- Negotiate agreements with vendors to best utilize university resources
