Position Summary

The Regional Manager -Business Development  will be responsible for leading, motivating, and managing a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs). This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in sales and business development, excellent coaching skills, and the ability to drive team performance to exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management:

    • Recruit, train, and onboard new Business Development Executives.

    • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to the team.

    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and foster a collaborative environment.

    • Ensures that the team objectives are consistently met with highest compliance & ethical standards.

    • Set clear performance goals and objectives for each team member and the team as a whole.

    • Monitor individual and team performance against targets, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

  • Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed business development targets.

    • Collaborate with senior management to refine sales processes and improve efficiency.

    • Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to penetrate them.

    • Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and adjustments to strategies.

  • Sales & Business Development:

    • Support BDEs in their sales efforts, including client presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.

    • Act as an escalation point for complex client issues or opportunities.

    • Maintain a deep understanding of our products/services and the competitive landscape.

    • Potentially manage a small portfolio of key accounts or strategic partnerships.

  • Reporting & Communication:

    • Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, pipeline, and forecasts to senior management.

    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the CRM system by the team.

    • Foster effective communication within the team and with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in business development or sales, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role within the education industry.

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to travel extensively

  • Knowledge of the territory geography is a plus
