Business Systems Analyst (U.S.Payroll)
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Analyst with an unwavering 'can-do' attitude to join the Payroll Compliance Product Content team at Thomson Reuters. You will make an immediate impact on how our clients accomplish their work. In this role, you will participate in the design, development, documentation and testing of our payroll compliance products. In addition, you will collect, analyze, and prioritize requirements from various entities including external taxing authorities and our internal sources - all in an effort to provide the most reliable U.S. payroll tax software in the industry.
This position requires an individual who can successfully work in a dynamic environment where priorities change based on continually evolving business needs. Our iterative approach to development processes require a professional with excellent adaptability and communication skills.
About the Role:
Produce various levels of documentation, such as product requirements, user stories, user interface designs, test plans, and user documentation
Research customer needs and payroll legislative changes, and identify new potential opportunities and functionality
Analyze payroll tax forms and related laws to ensure our software is kept up-to-date and accurate
Work closely with software engineers to implement product enhancements
Manage, adjust for risk, and prioritize product backlog
Communicate on an ongoing basis with cross-functional teams such as Product Excellence, Digital Content, and Product Support
Create and implement test plans on an ongoing basis. Fully test and verify that the product complies with all functional specifications and exceeds customer expectations
Gather business requirements through meetings and taxing entities
Work with product managers to plan and prioritize the backlog. Create user stories, test plans, and acceptance criteria
Participate in sprint planning, stand ups, and retrospectives
Maintain a strong understanding of the product vision
Manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects
Coordinate testing efforts with QA team members
Ensure timely delivery of value-added software features
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Computer Science/MIS preferred
2+ years of experience on Tax and Accounting, Financial or Legal management software as an analyst
2+ years of relevant work experience, specifically around U.S. payroll and/or income tax compliance is preferred
Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Unyielding attention to detail
Ability to adapt quickly to change
Comfortable working in ambiguity
Ability to write clear, concise documents
Ability to solve problems creatively
Experience using ADO and other tools used by Agile teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
