Coachella Valley Unified School District covers more than 1,200 square miles of mostly rural desert terrain, serving the communities of Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Indio, and the Salton Sea. Job Summary

General Description of Position Goals Under general supervision provides clerical duties in the Adult Education Program; compiles reports, reports attendance and scheduling; communicates information to staff, students, the public, and other agencies; ensures compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and provides information and/or direction as may be required.

Requirements / Qualifications

Essential Job Functions: 1. Inputs and updates student information and register them in appropriate class. 2. Prepares, maintain, monitors, and secures student files 3. Responds to inquiries in person and over the telephone regarding adult school classes; assist front counter with new and returning students 4. Checks, and inputs credits for student transcripts 5. Confers with teachers, administrators, and students regarding graduation requirements 6. Creates, maintains, revises and updates master schedule and school calendar 7. Assists in researching and provides assistance to students in the preparation of forms for outside agencies 8. Enrolls students, print/scan scantrons, updates attendance, prints Average Daily Attendance 9. (ADA) reports, assist teachers with daily attendance record keeping, maintain required attendance records and files 10. Works collaboratively with Desert Regional Consortium to obtain and track data. 11. Creates student folders, maintain files by alpha, scan former adult education files into Laserfiche or other document archive program software, and sends/responds to fax requests 12. Communicates with students and staff on truancies, chronic attendance issues, program policies and procedure 13. Provides student information to staff, student, outside agencies and authorities as requested 14. Assists with training of new teachers (i.e., attendance, Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems CASAS testing, etc.) 15. Assists in registering and admitting students for the High School Equivalency Test 16. Assists in CASAS testing and reporting

Salary Info

Classified Salary Schedule: $3,969 - $6,162 Monthly (Step 31 A-J)
