- Senior
Role Overview
We are redefining the brand identity for Regulatory, Risk, and Ethics Learning (RREL) and seeking a Senior Art Director to lead this transformation. This role will be responsible for translating our brand narrative and guiding principles into a scalable, modern, and cohesive visual design system that enhances the learning experience across the workforce.
Candidate Value Proposition
This is a unique opportunity to build a brand identity from the ground up. The Senior Art Director will have significant creative ownership and influence over how the internal brand is represented and experienced. Working closely with learning designers, program managers, and external vendors, the role will deliver design systems, templates, and creative direction across multiple modalities—including eLearning (Rise, Adapt), video, job aids, and internal communications.
Unlike traditional art direction roles, this position operates within a specialized learning environment, offering the chance to shape experiences tied to Annual Required Training and other workforce development initiatives. Candidates with experience in internal markets or enterprise learning environments will find this role particularly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate future-state brand narrative and principles into a clear, actionable design direction
- Develop moodboards, style guides, and visual concepts that reflect tone, personality, and learner-centered intent
- Build a scalable visual identity system for learning, including color, typography, iconography, photography, and motion guidance
- Collaborate with learning designers and program managers to understand platform constraints and technical limitations
- Provide art direction to external vendors, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables
- Align with central brand and design teams to maintain corporate standards while establishing RREL’s distinct identity
- Create documentation and templates to support consistent application of the design system post-handoff
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by the quality, consistency, and impact of deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in art direction, visual design, or brand design (agency or in-house)
- Demonstrated success in developing brand identity systems across multiple channels and formats
- Strong portfolio showcasing digital design work, ideally within learning, training, or educational contexts
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as Rise, Adapt, or Storyline
- Experience managing vendors or mentoring junior designers
Preferred Qualifications
- Motion design expertise
- Background in learning design or customer education
- Experience working with large tech brands
- Strong skills in iconography and illustration
Core Competencies
- Ability to ask insightful questions and translate client input into effective design solutions
- Highly self-motivated and organized, capable of driving deliverables independently
Education
Formal education in design is preferred, but emphasis is placed on a strong portfolio and a principled approach grounded in design theory and practice.
