As the go-to architect for the eCommerce Agile Release Train, you’ll provide technical direction, roadmap, and guidance that keep the team aligned and delivering business value.

This role is more than just architecture—it’s about being a guide for developers, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and innovation, and ensuring Holley embraces new technologies like AI to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes. You’ll help the team evolve its skills, refine its practices, and stay on the cutting edge of eCommerce transformation.

If you’re passionate about building scalable solutions, coaching high-performing teams, and using technology to transform customer experiences—this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Agile Team Engagement

  • Serve as the architectural anchor for the eCommerce Agile Release Train, embedded with the team.
  • Support PI planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews with clear technical direction.
  • Translate business epics into enablers and solution designs that developers can execute.
  • Provide hands-on guidance, mentorship, and coaching to development teams.

Architecture & Roadmap

  • Own the eCommerce technical roadmap, balancing near-term delivery with long-term evolution.
  • Identify and incorporate opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern architectures to accelerate delivery and innovation.
  • Ensure architectural runway, enablers, and standards are in place to support continuous delivery.
  • Drive alignment across eCommerce, ERP, CRM, WMS, and marketing platforms.

Technology Leadership

  • Establish and maintain reference architectures, integration patterns, and best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies (such as modern front-end frameworks to enhance UX and performance, MACH (Microservices, API First, Cloud-native, Headless), composable commerce, AI-driven solutions).
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams to ensure designs meet requirements for scalability, security, and compliance.

Business Partnership

  • Work closely with product management, release train engineers, and business stakeholders to align the roadmap with business goals.
  • Act as a bridge between technical implementation and business value.
  • Provide transparency on architectural decisions, dependencies, and trade-offs.

Execution & Delivery

  • Support teams with design sessions, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure architectural decisions are implemented consistently across teams.
  • Document and communicate architecture decisions, patterns, and evolution of the roadmap.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years in solution architecture, systems design, or technical leadership.
  • Deep experience with eCommerce platforms (Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus, Kibo, or similar), including designing and extending custom solutions for complex business environments.
  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments, preferably embedded in an Agile Release Train.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and integration best practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern DevOps approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills—you can mentor developers and explain trade-offs to business leaders.

Bonus Points For

  • Demonstrated experience introducing AI/automation into IT or eCommerce solutions.
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, or consumer brands.
  • Experience modernizing legacy eCommerce solutions or leading platform re-platforming.
  • Familiarity with MACH/composable commerce approaches.
