Description
The Development Officer is crucial to the success of One80 Place by cultivating and managing relationships with existing and prospective donors. This role focuses on enhancing donor loyalty and increasing lifetime value by fostering deeper connections and encouraging ongoing support. The position involves developing strategies to boost donor engagement and retention and implementing effective communication and stewardship strategies to build long-term relationships and raise funds.
Additionally, the Development Officer manages a portfolio of donors (50-75 relationships), actively participates in fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events, and leverages data insights and reports to fuel the major donor pipeline. This position reports directly to the Development Director.

Specific Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Candidates have at least 3-5 years of proven experience in nonprofit fundraising.
3. Experience managing a donor portfolio, soliciting 5-figure gifts, and familiar with traditional relationship-building tactics, moves management and donor stewardship.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for building relationships.
6. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
8. Knowledge of Raisers Edge NXT database, fundraising principles, and donor engagement strategies.
9. High level of integrity and discretion in dealing with sensitive donor information.
10. Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and independently.
Requirements
Specific Duties
1. Fundraising Strategy & Planning: Create plans that align with the department’s goals to identify, cultivate and steward potential and existing donors through data insights, prospect research, proactive donor portfolio management and moves management tactics.
2. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with existing donors in portfolio (approximately 50-75). Implement engagement strategies to cultivate new donors and enhance donor experience and satisfaction. Regularly communicate with donors through personalized correspondence, updates, and invitations. Arrange one-on-one meetings, calls, and personalized interactions to deepen donor engagement and connection to One80 Place.
3. Gift Cultivation and Solicitation: Cultivate and solicit gifts from individual and corporate donors drafting both general operating and program-specific proposals, sponsorships and multiyear gifts.
4. Stewardship and Retention: Design and implement effective stewardship programs to acknowledge, recognize, and retain donors promptly and thoughtfully.
5. Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns: Work collaboratively with the Annual Giving Manager and Communications Manager on the implementation of donor-centric fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
6. Events and Donor Recognition: Help plan and execute donor appreciation events, recognition ceremonies, and other engagement opportunities.
7. Database Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate donor records, tracking interactions, notes and relevant donor information in the Raiser’s Edge CRM database. Generate regular reports on donor engagement, retention, and contribution trends. Analyze donor data to identify patterns and opportunities to improve donor relations, solicit, retention strategies and giving.
8. Prospect Research: Conduct research to identify potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, for new funding opportunities.
