We are looking for Design Drafter to join our team! This role is responsible for creating and developing CAD models and drawings for both new and existing products, while collaborating closely with Engineering and Production to ensure accuracy of drawings and dimensions.
This is a full-time in office position located in Lancaster, PA.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design, create, and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software
- Prepare and release detailed fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings with guidance from Project Engineer's mark ups and other sources via Engineering Notice.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to develop design concepts and produce accurate design documentation.
- Ensure drawings created comply with company CAD standards, drafting practices, and applicable codes.
- Review and revise existing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
- Maintain drawing files, revision control, and associated documentation using SolidWorks PDM software.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) from 3D models and ensure accuracy for purchasing and production.
- Support manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams, with clear and accurate drawings.
- Assist in identifying and resolving design or drawing discrepancies
- Stay current with CAD software updates and industry standards.
- Interact with personnel including vendors and departments outside of Engineering.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Drafting, Design technology, Mechanical Engineering technology, or related field.
- 3+ Years of drafting/design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, drawings) and AutoCAD (2D drafting, drawings)
- Understanding of mechanical design practices, tolerances and GD&T.
- Knowledge of fabrication/manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, and welding.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with Engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Safety and Quality Conscious.
