Role Summary

Blue Hat provides equipment rental and hoisting services to customers in all industries, equipped with the right solutions and right people for any job. Comprised of highly experienced professionals with a strong safety culture and client focus, the Blue Hat team strives to improve the safety, efficiency, and productivity of the customers and projects it supports. Blue Hat is a subsidiary of JE Dunn Construction, and is headquartered in Kansas City, KS with 8 offices nationwide. 

The Blue Hat Marketing Specialist will coordinate and implement marketing activities including brand management and multi-channel marketing and communications strategies for Blue Hat, an independent brand and strategy trade partner to JE Dunn Construction.  This position will be responsible for maintaining marketing data and providing direct support to department needs associated with project opportunities, events, branding, programs, and other tasks as needed. This position will also provide support for proposals and presentations under tight deadlines. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of Blue Hat and JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

MARKETING FAMILY - CORE 

  1. Provides support for strategic marketing and communications for national and regional initiatives. 
  2. Supports the national brand as a brand ambassador, following brand governance and aligning marketing materials and pursuits with the appropriate messaging, aesthetic, tone, and voice. 
  3. Manages online presence for the Blue Hat brand through all social and digital media applications. 
  4. Writes and inputs digitally facing content for internal and external communications.  
  5. Prepares, including developing content, proofing, and editing requests for proposal and qualification responses. 
  6. Produces presentation materials and deliverables for internal purposes and project pursuits. 
  7. Maintains accuracy of marketing information within the CRM system, which includes internal personnel resumes, external contact records, project records, and knowledge database. 
  8. Creates unique marketing collateral for Business Development and internal departments as requested, ensuring corporate identity is maintained. 
  9. Plans, coordinates, or attends events such as trade shows, conferences, client events, and in-house planned activities. 
  10. Prepares, including writing, proofreading, and editing award submissions. 
  11. Gathers competitive information and market research to review industry trends and produce effective narratives to effectively market Blue Hat. 
  12. Researches the organizations competitors and provides analysis. 
  13. Supports the development and distribution of the national and regional content calendar, including social media, website, and editorial opportunities. 
  14. Partners with corporate communications on events or projects for internal or external press releases, internal newsletters, company intranet, etc. 
  15. Manages the ordering process for all branded merchandise through approved promotional vendors.  
  16. Manages and maintains the Blue Hat marketing budget across all Blue Hat locations. 
  17. Demonstrates commitment to the highest standards of client satisfaction by displaying courtesy and sensitivity and responding promptly to client needs, recognizes and acts upon service opportunities. 
  18. Manages difficult or emotional client situations promptly and efficiently. 
  19. Has responsibility for project and company photography.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism or related field (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 2+ years marketing, communications or public relations experience (Preferred)

Working Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Typically travel is not required
