CATALYST, AGCO's rotational development program, is designed to offer in-depth career experiences, ongoing mentorship, and targeted training across a range of business areas. You will be immersed in meaningful experiences that directly make a difference. Full-time CATALYST positions allow you to rotate through three or more business areas over 18 months, helping you prepare for your next career steps within AGCO.
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about a career in Validation Engineering and passionate about industry-leading engineering solutions that enable us to deliver “Farmer First” products to sustainably feed our world.
Program Start Dates: January or May 2026.
Your Impact
Responsibilities may vary based on experience, skillset, and assigned rotations:
- Design, execute, and analyze tests across lab, field, and simulation environments to ensure agricultural equipment meets performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Use tools like 3D CAD (CREO), data acquisition systems (e.g., eDaq, Siemens Test Lab, IPETRONIK), and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens Sim Center, ANSYS, StarCCM) to evaluate components and systems.
- Collect, analyze, and document data from tests, including performance metrics, part failures, and software functionality.
- Write detailed reports to communicate findings, recommend design improvements, and archive technical information for cross-functional teams.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with opportunities to present findings.
- Contribute to advancements in test automation, simulation accuracy, and validation scope to enhance product quality and expedite development.
- Stay informed on industry trends through professional societies, technical journals, and educational resources.
- Travel Requirement: Up to 70% during the field test rotation; other rotations may require travel up to 5%.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required. Must pass the Minnesota DOT physical.
- Recent graduate or current student on track to complete a bachelor’s degree before the start date, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to operate equipment and machinery, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform field modifications independently or with guidance.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Previous internships with AGCO or similar industries preferred.
Applicable Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with 3D CAD, data acquisition tools, and simulation software.
- Knowledge of mechatronic systems, vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN), and HIL environments (e.g., dSpace, Speedgoat, National Instruments).
- Experience with NVH testing and sensors (e.g., Accelerometers, Strain Gauges, Pressure Transducers).
- Proficiency with electronic lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators) and Python for automation.
Your Compensation
This position will pay within the range of $65,000-$70,000, based on experience. This position is eligible for a bonus based on 7% of compensation.
