Back when we lived together in a house on the Buffalo Bayou in Houston, we used "Live Free" as a motto for our lives. It was printed on a sign that hung over the back door as a reminder to Live Free when we went out into the world. The basic idea is to be unafraid of what others might think. The bible describes it as letting go of your fear of man, to instead consider what God would think. So, we became unafraid of the disapproval that more close-minded people in our lives might have of our actions and decisions. When one of us got in a rut or weren't happy or couldn't make a decision, another guy would tell him "Live Free" and it was a reminder to free ourselves of whatever the burden might be, to act boldly and take the bull by the horns and do what our gut said was right. Sometimes it manifested in crazy acts of fun such as riding our bikes through the grocery store at night blaring the Titanic song on a Turtlebox. We bought a boat together on a whim and it provided some of the most epic adventures we've ever had. We threw parties and got everyone dancing like no one was watching. We invited down-on-their-luck characters into our life and included them and helped them where we could. We lived communally in ways most people don’t. And, eventually all this gave us the courage to create a company that has helped us to Live Free and live the way we want everyday.
We have a Live Free sign in our office now and you'll see us continue to use the phrase on our website and in our marketing. We hope it encourages you like it has us.

Role Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, growth-driven Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to own and grow Turtlebox’s independent retail business across the Independent Dealer channel. This role blends sales execution and operational excellence. This role is responsible for building strong, long-term relationships with outdoor, hunting/fishing, premium lifestyle, and specialty retailers, while driving revenue growth, brand presence, and market penetration.
The ISR will also support 1–3 field-based Territory Sales Managers by providing reliable reporting, account insights, and operational support. This position is ideal for a highly organized candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and has experience using Excel, Salesforce, QuickBooks, and Shopify.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess prospective customer’s current and potential needs, determining appropriate Turtlebox products and solutions for that retailer. Learn the ins & outs of retail merchandising and help your dealers sell-thru their Turtlebox inventory.
- Own your territory as a business. It is your job to grow the door count by finding quality retail partners for Turtlebox. You will be the first point of contact and need to build and maintain strong customer relationships alongside your Territory Sales Manager.
- Manage orders, promotions, and dealer programs through Salesforce, QuickBooks, Shopify, and Excel reporting.
- Lead seasonal planning, promotions, and forecasting with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work with operations, finance, marketing, and product teams to ensure smooth execution of launches and promotions. Turtlebox thrives with teamwork and an all hands on deck mentality.
- Secure POP displays, fixtures, and merchandising opportunities to expand Turtlebox’s retail presence. You are the expert when it comes to Turtlebox. Help set your dealers up for success with top rate merchandising product knowledge
Qualifications:
- 1–3+ years of wholesale, consumer goods, or specialty retail sales experience (outdoor or premium consumer products preferred).
- Proficiency in Salesforce (CRM), QuickBooks (accounting), and Shopify (order management/ecommerce).
- Strong organizational skills with a history of process management, accurate forecasting, and compliance oversight.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset; able to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth environment.
